Everything You Need to Know about the Mothman in Fallout 76
Fallout 76’s mothman is generally a type of enemy, and a very dangerous one as well depending upon the type of mothman in question. There are exactly 6 different types of mothman in Fallout 76, and these are generally hostile. The main type is of course the basic mothman, which is also the weakest. The rest of them are irregular and/or stronger versions of the mothman, such as the Scorched Mothman which attacks players during the Scorched Earth Event. Here’s where you can find each specific type of mothman in Fallout 76 if you’re looking to capture them for a quest or want to find one for whatever reason.
Wise Mothman: This version of the mothman is the most peaceful one and can even become a friend. You’ll find it near the Landview Lighthouse, after completing the event at the lighthouse. The Wise Mothman appears after the event is completed and even rewards players.
Vengeful Mothman: This is one of the most dangerous types of mothman in Fallout 76, and you can face off against it during the Queen of the Hunt quest. This quest can be activated inside of the Hunter’s Shack in The Mire.
Other Types: The two types of mothman listed above are the only ones that can be met at will. The rest spawn randomly and you just have to hope that you run into them sooner or later. However, players have noticed that the base version of the mothman is found a lot near Point Pleasant, so you could try going there.
